Project Project RLCS: Marketing from the Ground Up RLCS needed a new marketing & web presence. SomethingKiller was able to deliver.
RLCS was a security first focused IT MSP in need of a Marketing & Brand overhaul. I was excited to work with an amazing IT firm to build a Marketing & Sales department from the ground up in order to reach new clients in the region.
RLCS is an IT Managed Services Provider offering a wide range of services for businesses in Northeast Florida, with a passion of providing security first IT solutions. RLCS partnered with SomethingKiller to create a brand & message that embodied that ethos.
The Project Scope
RLCS had solid growth through word of month referrals & recommendations from existing clients. While this was a testament in always putting a client's needs first, the desire for additional growth was present. RLCS entrusted me to define, build & grow the commercial customer base through a blend of marketing & sales activities.
The Brand Overhaul
Rebranding the identity for RLCS was a priority at the beginning of the project. Code & syntax was a central element of the brand and I wanted to maintain that focus throughout the logotype. While the logo drafts went through multiple iterations, I think it was captured in the final draft.
The Web Presence
Once the final logo was decided on, I was able to work on building the web presence & services RLCS wished to promote. I built the initial commercial website with Jekyll, a static website generator built in Ruby. Jekyll provides a wide variety of flexibility through plugins, collections & integrations to expand the website as I needed. This kept the project scope within the defined limits and allowed me to focus on the message and not the framework.
The Marketing Campaign
Creating a web presence is a great way to promote the services RLCS had to offer, but it's only one element of the multi point approach needed to build brand recognition. I was able to build a digital, direct mail & grassroots marketing campaign that focused on the services RLCS provided for the healthcare professional client base. This campaign centered around the need to provide IT network assessments for healthcare providers, as mandated through Medicare and other healthcare payers. The campaign aggregated healthcare professionals within a geographical area that are required to maintain a level of IT security compliance. I was able to aggregate the dataset, produce the collateral, configure the grassroots efforts & implement the campaign schedule for this effort.
The Results
A new rate of client growth at RLCS was achieved by implementing a multi-touch point approach, aided by a unified marketing & brand message. This marketing campaign yielded client growth that was unattainable thorough the previous word of mouth approach. I am excited to aid RLCS in any future web development & marketing needs.
